Back in 2006 I wrote a 500-page book titled Java
Testing and Design. It was my first solo book and the
experience almost killed my marriage! The reviews were pretty
consistent: "It
isn't the 'web-testing bible' so many programmers have been looking
for, but it is proof by example that automated testing of web-based
applications doesn't have to be any harder than any other kind of
testing." So much has happened in the software industry since
I wrote that book. I'm thinking it might be a good time to write a new
book on Web testing. I am seeking input, feedback, and thoughts. How
would a book on Web testing would help you, your organization, and the
world? Click
here to let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

PushToTest hired Lilac Epstein to write the TestMaker 5.2 User
Guide documentation. Lilac is an excellent technical writer.
She is looking for feedback on the format of the sample. Click
here to view the sample. Please let me know
your feedback to the sample.
Hi Frank,
Here is a fairly brief sample of what the manual will look like. I have included things like the logo as well as a chapter. I have also included a sample table. If you have concerns with the format feel free to let me know what you think. This is also something that might be a bit too early to judge at this point, and also something that can be changed later once you have seen the manual as a whole.
Some suggestions of things that we might decide to change later is the naming of the chapters, inclusion of the table of contents on the first page and the figures might not need captions. Additionally, the text that is light blue will be hyperlinked at a later time as well.
I would like to suggest that you send me the screen captures that are used in the manual as it will take me a lot of time to prepare the captures for the manual, and I believe that the quality goes down as well.
Now that I’ve gotten completely entrenched by the software package, I’m quite excited by both the project and the software’s capabilities. What do you think?
Lilac
Thanks!
