Configuration Utilities
TestMaker Grid technology deploys tests to a grid of TestNodes. These may be TestNodes installed in a rack of computers in your QA lab, in a partner's data center, and in the unusued desktop computers of your office afterhours.
TestMaker Grid technology is ideal for automating test operation from a Continuous Integration environment. The CI platform starts a TestMaker test and TestMaker automatically provisions and deploys tests to the available TestNodes in your own Grid or in a Cloud Testing environment. TestMaker Grid works well in team development organizations. With Grid technology enabled multiple TestMaker users run their test on the first available TestNodes.
Use the Grid Configurator utility in the TestMaker Tools menu, Grid Configurator command to identify the available TestNodes in a Grid configuration file. The utility displays the current status of the TestNodes in your grid that are in the configuration file.

Use the Grid Configurator File menu and Add TestNode command to identify a TestNode in your grid. Use the Add TestNodes From A File ... command to identify a group of TestNodes. The import file contains a list of TestNode locations (URIs), one TestNode per line. Use the Save Configuration As ... command to save the configuration file.

Use the TestMaker Editor to identify the grid to deploy your test. In the TestNodes tab use the Add Cloud/Grid command. Choose Grid in the Type pop-up menu. Choose the quantity of TestNodes in the quantity field. Choose the Grid configuration file using the Browse button. TestMaker automatically uses the available TestNodes from the Grid configuration file to deploy and operate your test.

TestMaker displays the status of the TestNodes in a controller window for the selected TestScenario as it operates the test. The Grid Configurator utility shows TestNode status as TestMaker operates the test.

The Grid Configurator utility automatically updates the TestNode status every 30 seconds with Auto-Update selected. Use the Tools drop-down menu, to manually update the status.
